Stereolithography (SLA) 3D printing is known for producing parts with high accuracy, repeatability, resolution, and smooth surfaces, while light-projection based printing is known for its speed, and versatility. Now imagine the breakthroughs that could be achieved for manufacturing by combining the best of both these technologies. From the pioneers in SLA 3D printing, and Figure 4 production-grade resin materials, comes the PSLA 270. This is the next generation in 3D printers merging the speed and material advantages of Figure 4 projection technology with the first-article success, accuracy, repeatability and part quality of SLA. During this session, Sam Green, director, product management, 3D Systems, will showcase the printer benefits:

  • Breakthrough in Productivity for Production Productivity Breakthroughs: The high-speed PSLA 270 with up to 5X faster print speeds than laser-based technology is designed for time-sensitive, high volume production parts that exhibit long-term stable mechanical properties. 3D Systems’ 3D Sprint software enables manufacturers to efficiently go from design to high quality, true-to-CAD parts without needing additional third-party software.
  • Unmatched First Article Success: With vat-based printing and high powered, dual HD projectors, PSLA 270 delivers first-article success rates superior to other technologies. Support structures are also simple, with minimal material usage and touch points.
  • Production-grade Materials for Application Flexibility: The PSLA 270 utilizes 3D Systems’ Figure 4 extensive family of engineering-grade materials to support direct production, end-use parts, functional prototyping, molding and casting. Materials can be changed in minutes with removeable vats for application versatility.
  • Easy to Install, Operate and Scale: The PSLA 270 is fast to set-up, easy to operate for non-technical users, and with a compact footprint, easy to fit into tight spaces as well as scale to production manufacturing sites.
